Growth Mindset For The New Year: January 3rd Develop Better Communication Skills

The old saying: “If you do what you have always done, you will get what you always got” is true of my life so far. Since I am aiming to develop a growth mindset this year, I am just going to need to reinvent my tactics, and I am open for a change that will bring about self development for the better. Anything worth having is worth working for, and I am ready to work towards my future, one area of my life at a time. An area of my life that I know needs improvement is my communication skills. Don’t get me wrong, I am a people person who loves to get along, but I am not the best at embracing other ways of communication, besides my own. I do know that everyone learns differently, and comprehension is easiest in the way that is best for each individual. I read once that one of the best ways to show your children that you love them is to recognize how they comprehend; some people use audio while others use visual, and I am like others who use a combination of audio and visual to get the most out of learning. I have noticed that being set in my ways when working with others has only led me to create the environment of failure, so I am choosing to embrace the differences of each coworker by acknowledging that not everyone communicates like me – just like comprehension skills – and I am set to embrace the differences of others that makes life interesting – if everyone were like me, life would lack the variety that makes the world go around. I look forward to expanding my communication skills, and I hope that others will join me.
