Having depression and anxiety sometimes makes me feel the need to be socially reclusive, but I want to feel the freedom to be myself in any situation. I feel that I withdraw from society to hide or cover my mental illness and the awkward way that my anxiety makes me feel. Acceptance of my mental illness and thought disorder is important to help e to overcome them. Today’s daily affirmation will help me to acknowledge them to myself to overcome the need to withdraw from society. Today, I will affirm within myself: “I accept that I have anxiety!” I know that by doing this, I can take the steps needed to continue to heal, instead of hiding away to prevent the anxiety. Acceptance is an important step to any healing journey, and I hope that others who need this step will join me.
