While suffering with anxiety and depression, the whole thought of spending time close to family and friends during the Holiday Season can be mentally draining; for me, it is the feeling of low self esteem and self worth that can cause my anxiety to kick into high gear. I have never really been the confident one, and it can be mentally draining to spend time with those who seem to be more judgmental about the direction of my life. I do not really feel that I should allow others to determine what makes my life worthwhile, and close family can often be more intimating than strangers. While I know that I am loved and cared for, I still have social anxiety about spending time with a group of family and friends. I know that I am not the only one, so I have decided to create Mental Health Daily Affirmations for the month of December. I know that the thoughts that I allow myself to dwell on are impactful to my state of mind, and I believe that positive thoughts are mentally healing. I hope that others can benefit from this month of self positivity.
I have drawn inspiration from the post: 100 Positive Affirmations For Mental Health, which can be found at http://www.learningtobefree.com. I hope that others can gain from this powerful resource.
